Title: Corporate Controller

Position Overview:
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations for a $100M company (headed to $200M) in Mayfield Village, Ohio with a streamlined manufacturing operation in Mexico. You will report to the CFO and be groomed to replace him. Salary $140K plus benefits depending on experience.

Objectives:
· Provide comprehensive financial updates to the CFO and senior management
· Evaluate, analyze, and report appropriate data points
· Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
· Maximize Ohio payroll efficiency through innovative process development
· Assist CFO to develop and support both short- and long-term operational strategies
· Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions in coordination with the CFO, operations management and senior management.

Role and Responsibilities:
· Manage the accounts payable, accounts receivable and cost accounting functions (US and Mexico) including the hiring, development and management of departmental staff.

· Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all departments, in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

· Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize integrity of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.

· Establish (in coordination with CFO and President) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

· Manage the company’s budget process, including maintaining internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures in coordination with the CFO, operations management and senior management.

· Assess effectiveness, appropriateness and efficiency of accounting operations, policies and procedures, develop plans for improvement and implement new processes as required.

· Monitor and confirm the company’s financial condition by conducting internal audits and coordinating activities with external auditors as necessary in coordination with the CFO.

· Ensure the company’s compliance with all federal, state, and local financial requirements (both US and Mexico), including studying existing and new US legislation, anticipating future legislation, filing appropriate financial reports, and advising management on compliance status.

· Work closely with the company’s outside Mexican accounting firm to manage all accounting activities at Mexican sites and ensure adequate accounting and payroll controls are in place.

Qualifications and Skills:
· Solid communication, analytical and management skills
· Highly skilled with Excel
· Knowledge of and experience with different financial software tools
· Deep, proven knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), auditing, accounting, and corporate finance

Education:
· 4-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or mathematics required
· Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in finance preferred
· CPA or other professional accreditation (CA, CMA, CGMA, etc.) preferred

Experience:
· A minimum of seven years’ prior experience in public accounting (manufacturing environment preferred) and/or auditing
· A minimum of five years’ prior experience managing people
· Experience with and knowledge of financial reporting requirements
· Experience with international operations – NAFTA/USMCA in particular – is preferred
