Location: Hays Communities YMCA Center - 465 Buda Sportsplex Dr, Buda, TX 78610

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Program Operations (90%)
    • Supervisory Responsibilities—directly supervises part-time employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; Recruits, trains, and develops part-time program staff and volunteers, including training all staff on emergency procedures.
      • Plans, assigns, and directs staff
      • Assists with performance appraisals, rewards, and discipline. Monitors and updates all required staff certifications.
      • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
      • Promotes and incorporates the YMCA's five core values, Social and Emotional Intelligence, and character development model into all program activities.
    • Guide, direct, and oversee current Youth and Family programs and the creation of new programs, including establishing operating standards and program objectives to guarantee the quality of existing programs, ensure participant satisfaction, and attract new members and program participants, including creating an ongoing evaluation process.
    • Serve on the leadership team to deliver high-quality Family Events.
    • Assist with targeted Teen programs in conjunction with the Youth & Government/ Teen Director to ensure year-long programming for teens and middle school students.
    • Assist with direct marketing and promotion of programs to ensure the achievement of established objectives.
    • Maintain proper records for all program responsibilities including organizing and scheduling program registrations and program statistics.
    • Develop programs with an appeal to a varied demographic, including but not limited to gender, age, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, and race.
    • Monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives including performing within approved budgets.
    • Coordinate the use of branch facilities for program activities and events to ensure the smooth flow of programming.
    • Assists with Impact Group meetings
    • Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Advancement (10%)
    • Assists in branch fundraising activities and special events including personally participating and soliciting others for necessary YMCA financial development programs such as the Annual Campaign
    • Actively and enthusiastically support the Branch and Association goals and directions through effective completion of tasks and verbal display to peers, staff, members, and guests.
    • Complete other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in recreation or equivalent professional experience is encouraged, but not required.
    • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory position.
    • Experience with creating, implementing, and evaluating Youth and Family Programming
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Ability to apply knowledge of accounting and finance basics.
    • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
    • Experience in managing projects and coordinating events is a plus.
    • Knowledge of member relations system and/or database is preferred
  • Availability: This position is a part-time role, offering 28 hours per week during Center Hours.
