Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Coordinator of Women’s Basketball Operations provides administrative support to the Women’s Basketball program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all administrative functions of the Women's Basketball program.
  • Responsible for all aspects of team travel; including flight, bus, hotel, meals, transportation, practice facilities, per diem expenditures, etc.
  • Responsible for film exchange and all video responsibilities.
  • Acts as liaison between women's basketball and Athletic administrative areas.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the sport of basketball and familiar with all aspects of administering a basketball program.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coaches, staff, faculty, students, and members of the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, and project a professional attitude.
  • Knowledge of NCAA policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I basketball operations.
  • Ability to learn the tape exchange program.
  • Knowledge of PC computer operations and Excel, Word and Powerpoint software.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and discretion under intense pressure and short timelines.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to three (3) years of administrative support experience required. Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
  • Collegiate basketball experience preferred
  • Division I basketball experience preferred.

Physical Summary

Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

Licenses / Certificates

A valid driver's license is required for this position. Once hired the employee must successfully complete the Defensive Driver Training Program provided by the State of California for California State University campuses.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,338 - $4,913 per month

Time Base

Full-time temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
