The Cooler Supervisor has the responsibility to manage, coordinate, direct and counsel employees within documented parameters. To resolve problems, utilizing sound judgment and when necessary, seek guidance. Adherence to company, supplier, and regulatory rules/regulations is paramount. The requirement is to function closely as a team in relation to cooler/plant operations, quality and customer product needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Coordinate among all departments to ensure customer orders are received and shipped at the lowest possible cost to meet the customer’s requirements while maintaining corporate established quality standards to obtain optimum load-out.
  • Assist Plant Manager with weekly work schedules.
  • Facilitates teamwork throughout the facility and promotes a positive self-image.
  • Ensure local level, corporate, and regulatory rule/regulations and policies are adhered to.
  • Responsible for expense control, including shrink, labor, and overhead costs in the Cooler.
  • Responsible for Cooler Warehouse Master Sanitation schedule adherence.
  • Ensure that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) are developed and maintained for all aspects of the Cooler Warehouse.
  • Work with the Plant Manger to implement safety programs and ensure compliance with general manufacturing practices (GMPs).
  • Responsible for staffing levels, employee performance evaluations and discipline.
  • Ensure the proper load out process is maintained. All products are to be checked in and out according to company policy. Adherence to shipping / receiving policies, procedures, forms and documentation are utilized.
  • Conduct and organize finished product inventory - Review product availability and code for FIFO – daily
  • Responsible for the overall succession planning of cooler supervision staff and their development.
  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained at all times.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Must be a team player with the ability to plan and execute operational activities
  • Knowledge of Warehouse and Distribution of dairy and/or perishable products
  • Required to operate and be familiar with personal computers
  • Be self-motivated and well organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma required.
