Job description
Position Overview: Controls Engineers work in both an office environment when engineering control systems and on the shop floor in Van Wert Ohio for commissioning and debugging of equipment. The Controls Engineers work closely with the Mechanical Designers, Electrical Designers, and Machine Assembly personnel as required to design systems and develop code for automation projects. They are expected to interface with the customers at both our facility and the customer's facility for Runoff and Machine Acceptance.

Other Responsibilities:
- Perform controls programming with ladder logic, HMI, VFD, and servo motion from a template
- Specify required controls architecture and components required on a project
- Meet deadlines and take a project from start to finish
- Lead controls portion of small projects both at our facility and at the customer's site
- Read and understand project budgets, quotes, and customer specifications
- Verify programming time required to meet budget and deadlines
- Communicate with internal and external customers
- Travel with equipment to customer sites for installation and training
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in the field
- Related degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Rockwell Automation products is a must. Experience with any of the following would be a plus: Omron, Mitsubishi, and Siemens
- Experience with one of the following robot platforms: Fanuc, Yaskawa Motoman, ABB, Kuka, or similar
- Possess a good mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot systems from a mechanical, electrical, and process viewpoint
