WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Job Function Description:
The Controllership Regulatory function is responsible for the operations and controls surrounding regulatory reporting for the broker-dealer.
This function’s responsibilities demonstrate expertise in SEC and CFTC rules pertaining to Net Capital, Customer Protection, FOCUS and related reporting.
Collaborates cross-functionally with all lines of businesses to facilitate and lead timely implementation and standardization of any new regulatory requirements made to the existing policies and procedures.

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:
Ensures accurate compliance and regulatory standards are met within the department, with the Net Capital (15c3-1), Customer Protection (15c3-3), FOCUS reporting and CFTC Daily Segregation filings.
Responds to internal and external audit requests, as required.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as assigned.
Shares accounting expertise with leaders and business lines by providing guidance, interpretation, and communication of policy and/or procedural changes and impact.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience: 8-15+ years; Experience in working in a vertically integrated environment with capital asset deployment and inventory management. FINRA Series 27 license or willingness to pursue.

Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of SEC/CFTC regulatory practices and procedures, including US GAAP standards.
Ability to leverage technology to improve and automate business tasks

Ability to lead, influence and direct peers, and management.
Ability to make effective decision making on complex matters.
Ability to build relations at all levels of management.
Ability to convey a sense of urgency and drive.

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.
