REQUIRED SKILL SETS
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with Sage Intacct.
- Demonstrates skills as a proficient user of financial systems, spreadsheet programs, and database programs. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is a must.
- Possess the ability to work well independently, showing initiative, self-motivation, and originality.
- Able to work well with changing priorities and time guidelines.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal independently with all levels of management and staff.
- Possess proven experience exercising discretion, good judgment, initiative, and originality in performing a broad variety of duties.
- Demonstrate proven experience exercising the highest standards of accuracy and precision and be highly organized.
- Possess the ability to present complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Ideal candidate has 5 to 10 years of experience with technology companies; experience in public accounting.
- Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager.
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The type of activities expected to be performed at this level include, but are not limited to:
- Manage all aspects of accounting, billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
- Prepare and organize financial statements for record and review, including monthly & annual financial reports.
- Maintain documented system of accounting policies and operations by analyzing current procedures and recommending change where appropriate.
- Keep an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts.
- Monitor cash and funding balances.
- Oversee payments of all accounts; ensuring all accounts are paid on time. Oversee payments made for debts, bank loans, and other large quantities.
- Process accounts and collect payments.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting. Ensure company complies with all additional legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures time and expense records are accurate and reconciled with general ledger system, including billing, collections, and reimbursements.
- Partner with business operations to deliver timely, insightful data, tools, and analysis to drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and risk management.
- Organize information and statements for audits and due diligence requests by external auditors, clients, and vendors.
- Manage relationships with the Company’s’ lenders and other key third-party finance providers (e.g., OpenAir, Concur, Sage).
- Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management and chief financial officer.
- Manage and develop accounting team.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field.
- Candidate must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
