ASI is seeking a Contracts Procurement Specialist to work in our Orange Park, FL office. The Contracts Procurement Specialist will report directly to the Senior Contract Manager. The Contracts Procurement Specialist is a critical team member who interfaces with all levels of management. Working side by side with the Senior Contracts Manager, the Contracts Procurement Specialist is responsible for performing contract assignments in support of local or centralized procurement activity or in the audit/review of that activity. The Contracts Procurement Specialist will receive cross division training and work with Business Development and Proposals, Accounting, and Quality. The right candidate will have the potential to increase their skills and enhance their responsibilities in a growing division.
Responsibilities:
- Solicits bids to procure a variety of required goods and services and negotiates and administers contracts
- Assists with contract termination procedures
- Performs basic analyses for firm fixed-price or similar contracts
- Participates as a team member on an acquisition management review team
- Performs commonly used contracting methods and contract types related to pre-award, post-award and/or price/cost analysis functions to perform well-defined and precedent contract actions
- Analyzes business practices and market conditions to evaluate bid responsiveness, contractor responsibility, and contractor performance
- Composes memoranda, minutes, and reports, and drafts contract provisions and supporting documents
- Solicits sources of supply and analyzes prices, discount rates, delivery dates, transportation charges, previous performance, commitments, and indications of financial responsibility and recommends the most advantageous offer
- Assigns work in terms of objectives, priorities, and deadlines and provides additional assistance with new or unusual assignments
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Five (5) years of professional procurement and contracting experience
- Highly proficient in Microsoft 365, specifically Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude, collaborative teamwork spirit, and willingness to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead contracting tasks and projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post Graduate Degree
- Professional certification in Contracting
- Experience in professional procurement and contracting, which includes the drafting of complex contracts, including provisions, and solicitation documents
- US Government professional procurement and contracting experience
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- May be required to obtain a secret clearance
