Job Summary:
Lima One is searching for a Risk Analyst to join the Construction Management department. The Construction Management team is responsible for reviewing and approving residential rehab projects (cost, timeline, progress, completion) and analyzing construction draws. This team collaborates with sales, operations, and servicing to provide a great customer experience throughout the life of a loan.
The Risk Analyst is a vital role within the Construction Management department responsible for identifying and mitigating risk within Lima One’s construction loan portfolio by analyzing various data sources and reports and providing feedback within the department. The Risk Analyst is diligent, efficient, and detail oriented. All analysts within the Construction Management department are ambassadors of the Lima One brand and are expected to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review construction progress, timelines, and exit strategies for loans approaching maturity
- Manage inspections ordered for projects “flagged” by the Risk team.
- Onboard and check capacity and experience of general contractors for incoming projects
- Run weekly reviews of construction projects that hit risk flags in the draw process
- Quarterly process audits of the Construction Management team to maintain quality control
- Fulfill “on the job” training in construction and risk analysis through continuing education
- Assume other duties/responsibilities as they arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ years of work experience in real estate, construction, or a related field
- 2+ years of work experience in data analysis
Required Experience and Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Strong ability to pinpoint problems, collect data, confirm facts, and draw valid conclusions
- High attention to detail
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage tight deadlines
- Strong ability to work in a team environment
- Comfortable navigating high pressure situations and problem solving within a deadline
- Flexibility working in a dynamic environment of rapid change
