North Wind Construction Services provides heavy civil construction services with special expertise in mine reclamation, repository construction and operation, landfill closures, and stream restoration. Operations began in northern Idaho, but have expanded to new regions including Las Vegas, Seattle, and Oak Ridge. The Construction Services team is known for the successful completion of projects in challenging conditions that are often in remote locations throughout the U.S. North Wind Construction Services is a certified 8(a) and small disadvantaged business.

Job Description

• Performs manual and skilled labor tasks such as brush clearing, trench digging, erosion controls, traffic controls, pipe placement, debris cleanup, formwork, geotextile placement, and fencing.
• Use of tools and equipment such as: hand tools, hand held power tools, and small-mechanized equipment to provide labor support on a variety of construction projects.
• May tend pumps, compressors and generators, as well as assist with setting/reading survey grade stakes for cut and fills.
• HAZWOPR certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to work safely and efficiently
• Ability to regularly move at least 50-lbs manually
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and designated health and safety requirements
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions or difficult terrain.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with hazardous wastes in heavy civil earthwork
• Current 40-hour Hazmat Certification (preferred)
• Experience setting/checking grade stakes
