Butler Snow LLP, a multi-office, AMLaw 200 law firm, is seeking to fill a Conference Center Coordinator position in our Ridgeland, MS office. This position performs a variety of administrative support duties and delivers high-quality services to internal and external clients, exhibiting commitment to integrity and excellence. The position requires thorough knowledge of all firm specific administrative processes and procedures and a broad-based understanding of the clients, matters and associated practices. The scope of responsibilities includes prioritizing, managing and following through on multiple events, and communicating effectively, courteously and professionally with clients, attorneys, staff and peers. Candidates with prior experience in restaurants or catering event venues are ideal for this role.
SUMMARY: Assisting with day-to-day operations of the conference center, preparing and resetting conference rooms to accommodate meeting needs, and working with various departments to ensure that the office is well-maintained.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Implements various event, meeting and hospitality functions ensuring that consistent, quality, and cost effective services are provided- Has a fundamental and strategic understanding of events, meetings and hospitality services and can independently manage and make recommendations to management
- Manages proper and timely utilization of the audio visual equipment and staff with a functional understanding of how to operate same when called upon to do so
- Supports other departments (Facilities and Hospitality) to ensure that the Ridgeland office is well-maintained
- May be called upon to provide hospitality services in times of unusual activity or when staff persons are out, including, but not limited to, coordination with caterers, service responsibilities, ability to relocate furniture and seating when needed, inventory, and maintenance and cleanup of hospitality areas
- Serves as back up to Receptionist on occasion
- Implements strategies to achieve performance targets
- Ensures that every Client is receiving a 5-star experience
- Maintains excellent client relations
- Demonstrates an exceptional level of professionalism and customer service for the staff to emulate
- Other duties as assigned

Technology Skills - Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment.
Adaptability – Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects at once. Has the ability to function independently and problem solve with minimal direction. Has the ability to multi-task and work under pressure to perform diverse responsibilities requiring confidentiality, initiative and sound judgment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Hospitality or Food Service experience and/or professional certification a plus
- Approximately 2-3 years of related work experience
