Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee compliance within the schools and ensure full compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures at federal, state and local levels including establishing and updating policies, procedures and standard of conduct.
- Participate in the development of school programs to ensure compliance.
- Maintain current knowledge of accreditation standards, procedures for timely compliance with school wide policies and applicable federal, state and local laws.
- Prepare reports detailing compliance initiatives regularly and recommend improvements or changes to the overall compliance program for leadership’s consideration.
- Ensure maintenance of required documentation.
- Perform assessments.
- Ensure clean and successful transfer of data from student management system to Arizona Department of Education (ADE) SAIS system by performing monthly internal audits.
- Meticulous skills in compliance and documentation processes in an educational setting.
- Manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Prepare for annual external audit.
- Experience in assessing and identifying learning needs as well as providing education and training designed to support a learning organization.
- Identifying and resolving operational issues.
- Review student data and identify errors that may affect funding received from ADE and ensure all deadlines set by the organization and governmental agencies are met.
- Generate reports from SMS and ADE to support business needs and reconcile all generated reports
- Participate in all information maintained by enrollment and registration departments.
- Audit and verify all student files are in compliance with all records requirement and may be assigned various special projects by management.
- Monitor and coordinate compliance activities with other departments to remain current on all compliance requirements and to identify trends and suggest implementation of policies and procedures.
- Provide compliance training, conduct presentations, provide advisory services to staff and management.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience.
- General knowledge of education practices, procedures, and/or laws.
- Demonstrate experience in developing and maintaining the policies and procedures relating to the above-defined tasks.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, regulations, statutes, and policies related to charter schools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established time frames.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience in working as a teacher is a plus.
- Must have experience in working in a school setting.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Valid Arizona’s Educator’s Certificate preferred.
