Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice has an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join its Senior Management Team. A Best Places to Work in Maine designee for many years, Androscoggin is an award-winning non-profit provider of home and community based health care services. The Community Engagement Officer will report directly to the CEO, and is ultimately responsible for engaging members of the communities we serve to support and preserve our mission for enhancing quality of life by providing innovative and compassionate medical care for all. The Community Engagement Officer will focus on the philanthropic needs of the organization, community outreach and relationships, brand management and strategy, special events, internal and external communications strategies, and stakeholder publications. The Community Engagement Officer will supervise and collaborate with a team of development and communications professionals. The successful candidate must be willing to travel within Maine, and be available for occasional evening & weekend activities.

Position requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) (professional philanthropy certification preferred); a proven track record as a development professional, expertise in community and public relations, marketing and brand management, and sophisticated events management. The individual must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills; a comfort for public speaking; and a proven ability to combine creativity with the management of detail-oriented projects. Must work well as a member of a team, be a trusted adviser and leader, and be comfortable in a high energy, fast-paced environment working closely with other senior leaders, Foundation Trustees and our Board of Directors to advance Androscoggin’s mission in the communities we serve.

Preferred background would include experience in health care; knowledge of the local community; and progressive expertise using time-tested and emerging digital strategies to achieve development goals.
