Community Impact Coordinator

United Way of Reno County (UWRC) seeks an innovative and dynamic professional to serve as the Community Impact Coordinator. The Community Impact Coordinator has responsibility for planning and executing on initiatives within the UWRC’s focus of education, income stability and health using the principles of collective impact.

The successful candidate must be proficient in public speaking, facilitation, writing, and presentation skills. The person must seek relationships to understand the needs of the community for development, funding and collaboration on behalf of the United Way. This position requires the use of courtesy, tact, and discretion. It also requires the ability to inspire and harness the energies and talents of many. Experience in the nonprofit sector and volunteer management is important. Familiarity with the application of collective impact principles and strategies that leads to community level change and strong project management skills are preferred. This person should be able to demonstrate the ability to think and act strategically and be able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. They will work with United Way of Reno County staff and volunteer teams to carry out UWRC mission to link the community’s will and resources to improve lives. This position’s responsibility is to engage local non-profit, interfaith, business, government, and community leaders in this work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and community partners;
  • Convene, manage, facilitate and represent United Way’s role in collective impact efforts across Reno County
  • Engage local interfaith, business, nonprofit, government, and community leaders to collaboratively address Reno County issues
  • Use principles of continuous improvement to improve and refine strategies
  • Support the strategic planning and growth of our focus areas of education, income and health;
  • Serve as a primary liaison between UWRC volunteer engagement and staff to plan and coordinate meaningful volunteer activities;
  • Monitor and report on the impact and results of collaborative efforts
  • Recruit and cultivate new partners that expand the reach of UWRC’s collective impact efforts
  • Develop an understanding of needs and issues impacting our community and coordinate resources and partners to respond
  • Manage existing programs developed at UWRC for community impact;
  • Develop an understanding and stay current with social and community issues;
  • Assist with fundraising and volunteerism efforts that support UWRC;
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, facilitate group process and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and report writing.
  • Experience with program/project management, including the ability to manage processes and projects on time and to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience/familiarity with the principles of collective impact and/or collaborative work.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more of the following fields: early childhood education, health, family self-sufficiency, social-emotional development and other family-serving systems of care.
  • Experience working with or in service of vulnerable populations including homeless, foster, youth with disabilities and/or justice system.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in cultural competency and working in diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact and good judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to research topics, assimilate data and report on findings, verbally and in written form.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and organize presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively and follow through.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office package (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint)

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position that would work 40 hours a week. Typical schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. There could be some evenings and weekends as business needs require.

Pay: From $49,000.00 per year
