Adelphoi Village’s Family Relationship Counseling program located in Washington will offer an opportunity for identified children and their families to bond and build positive relationships in a safe and nurturing setting. The program will provide for safe reunification and family participation in planning permanency for their child. The “Visit Coaching” model by Marty Beyer, Ph.D., and the Nurturing Parenting Model will be the primary tools used to engage the family in this process and will be tailored to their needs based on the reason their family is referred to the service. The program will work to build on parent strengths and guide them to improve parenting.
A full-time Community Counselor position is available.

***Starting salary of $38,500 based on experience and educational background
***$1,000 bonus

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct various levels of supervised visitation either at a visitation center location, neutral location or in-home.
- Utilize Visit Coaching Curriculum as a key component of the supervised visitation
- Utilize Nurturing Parenting Model or an identified research-based curriculum
- Meet with the parent (caregiver) before and after visits
- Coordinate transportation for visits, including neutral pick-up/drop-off points for visits
- Assist and link the family to additional counseling or other types of services if needed
- Documents required information (i.e., medical and daily logs, progress reports, etc.) and complete required reports in a timely manner.
- Attendance at court hearings, and other court or family-related activities when required or requested
- Aftercare follow-up related to family progress after service completion
- Embrace Trauma-Informed Care as a guide for creating a safe and non-violent environment for the clients in our care AND the staff who care for them.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Community Counselor is required to have a BA/BS in social work or a related human service field and a minimum of two years of experience in the childcare field.
