Overview:
Under the supervision of the Community Based Services Nurse Manager, the Community Based Nurse is responsible and accountable for prescribing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care delivered within their shift, and for utilizing the nursing process to provide assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation of client care within designated clinical areas. The Nurse is responsible for meeting all regulatory documentation standards. The Nurse participates in the multidisciplinary team, QA and UR activities. The Nurse acts as a clinical role model and provides nursing consultation to staff within the assigned areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities:
- Triage and review referral for psychiatry services and prepare documentation for intake
- Collect and analyze assessment data to formulate client care issues, individualized outcomes
- Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing interventions
- Collaborate with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment, and follow-up
- Monitors prescriptions filled at outside pharmacies
- Maintains working relationships with Pediatricians, Specialists, Psychiatrists, Therapists, and hospitals who provide care to the children
- May arrange appointments or receive orders for treatments when nursing expertise is required to facilitate the process
- Ongoing training with staff on medications and handling medication
- Provides other health-related education to staff and children
- Documents all nursing interventions
- Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Participates in nursing department, staff meetings and other facility activities
- Attends appropriate treatment reviews related to health care for children
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing or
- Associates Degree in Nursing with 2+ years of experience in pediatric or mental health nursing
- Active California Registered Nursing License
- Public Health Certificate Preferred
- CPR – BLS
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
- Organized, takes initiative, and has excellent correspondence and follows through with team
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- Per Diem: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm
- Hours will vary
- No weekends or nights
- Starting $55- $57.50 an hour
- $2000 sign on bonus
- Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
