JOB TITLE: COMMUNICATIONS, MERCHANDISE & EVENTS SPECIALIST

Job Summary: The Communications, Merchandise & Events (“CME”) Specialist is a regular, full-time hourly position that serves as the point of contact for all media & mass communications by Terrapin Beer Company occurring across a variety of platforms. The Communications & Events Specialist promotes the digital amplification of Terrapin Beer Company events and programming happening throughout the country utilizing engaging written communication and a market targeted approach. This role is additionally responsible for the cost-effective sourcing & shipment of all Company point-of-sale merchandise for both internal & external customers. The CME Specialist will report directly to the Marketing Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute all Company digital communication that supports and aligns with marketing strategies, goals and objectives. Digital communication includes, but is not limited to, email, website, and all social platforms.
  • Partner with the Graphic Design Specialist and Digital Media Specialist to develop and execute planned, real time, paid and organic content.
  • Monitor social media campaigns by tracking campaign performance, customer engagement, and SEO to optimize campaign content.
  • Assist with planning and execution of both Company sponsored and affiliated events and festivals, under the direction of the Marketing Director.
  • As directed, attend key festivals/events and capture relevant social media content and then upload to the applicable platform in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and observe online conversations within the digital network about Terrapin Beer Company and similar competition while reporting key insights and strategies to the Marketing Director.
  • Stay current and assess industry and social media trends, tools, new platforms, innovations, and best practices.
  • Work closely with Sales and Brewery Events department staff in order to develop relevant social media content to aggressively advertise Terrapin Beer Company happenings and successes.
  • Update and maintain Company website – including, but not limited to, developing unique blog content, keeping event and market pages up to date, leveraging page analytics for marketing tactics and improvements, etc.
  • Execute fun and engaging brand interactions through creative press releases for Company through all digital platforms.
  • Responsible for cost effective sourcing of all Company point-of-sale merchandise from vendors in a timely manner.
  • Serve as point of contact for both Company sales team and distributor partners for timely & cost-effective shipment of point-of-sale merchandise.
  • Active participant in all departmental meetings and contributes equally to the conceptualizing of new ideas and objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain business-like behavior during and after the consumption of alcohol during social events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

This position is an entry-level position requiring a 2-year degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications Studies, Social Media or similar degree program with 1-2 years of relevant work experience. (Or) similar educational attainment and work history.

Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in creating social media content across multiple channels for both Spanish and English-speaking markets.

This position also requires excellent time management skills as well as very strong creative and problem-solving skills. Candidates must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work some nights and weekends.

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Candidates must have a clean driving record, comprehensive auto insurance and reliable source of transportation.
