Job description

Serves as Marketing and Communications Manager for the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE); creates a significant presence for FABE within the university and on the local, state, national and international levels; develops and manages marketing strategies for FABE’s extension, teaching, and research mission areas; develops and implements a comprehensive and creative communications and marketing/media relations strategy for FABE; develops a communication plan and department brand; regularly updates FABE leadership on strategic communications and marketing initiatives; works with faculty (individually and in groups) to develop and implement promotional strategies for each faculty members integrated extension, teaching, and research portfolios; plans and promotes FABE outreach activities including annual banquet, seminars,
conferences, and extension programs; participates as an active member of the FABE Communications and Marketing Committee; serves as managing editor for FABE publications, newsletters, recruiting materials, web content, media presence, and other promotional endeavors (including web presence, traditional media, social media, podcasts, etc.) for current, future, and former students, college and
university audiences, internal and external media, and outside stakeholders; assists FABE leadership with annual reporting as it relates to marketing and communication of FABE's integrated extension, teaching, and research program impacts; stays current with new developments in media and communications methods and technologies, and applies them as appropriate.
