Mission

Represent the company in the purchase process of direct components and raw material required to produce HVAC Systems to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.

Negotiated direct purchase price reductions to Improve company competitiveness.

Responsibilities

o Build up the Purchasing budget together with the site Purchasing manager.

o Defines and implements negotiation/technical/re-sourcing/logistics improvements and productivities to reach the Purchasing Index and Purchasing Performance Budget annual objectives.

o Generates and maintains new cost reduction ideas (reservoir) to reach following year’s budget requirements.

o Monitors and reduces the impact of the Raw material and Exchange rate market levels.

o Creates and maintains the contractual relationship (Purchase Orders, Long Term Agreements, Logistic Protocols, Confidentiality Agreements, etc) with direct component Suppliers.

o Support Program Manager in the coordination of design changes to ensure seamless implementation on time.

o Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities.

o Studies market prices and trends, engineering developments and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned commodities and advises company activities with concurrence of department manager.

o Manages new programs sourcing process through RFQ analysis and negotiation and recommends suppliers based on Quality, Cost and Delivery history.

o Represents the Purchasing Department and present updates to the different meetings that requires his contribution (i.e. ECR meeting, New program weekly meetings, Design review meetings, etc.)

o Anticipates potential supplier contingencies and brings suppliers in when necessary.

o Visits suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources and assists in the resolution of production, design, quality and/or delivery problems.

o Organizes and implements strategies to accomplish Minority Business Sourcing Programs consistent with company guidelines.

o Leads mitigation action plan when necessary with trouble suppliers.

o Strictly applies and updates the internal procedures, certifications, purchasing tools and information systems.

§ Key Performance Indicators :

o Achieve the monthly budgeted purchasing performance and Purchasing Index based on the attached matrix.

o Sourcing process formalized with signed Long Term Agreements.

o Analysis and understanding of the commodities

· Cost structure, Main cost drivers, Suppliers comparison

o Propose a commodity strategy that contains:

· Main opportunities (Negotiation, Technical, Packaging, Resourcing), Name and number of preferred suppliers, Timing

o Raw material / LTA Productivity price updates no later than 15 days after the due date

· Minority spent to reach at least 6% Minority, 2% Women, 3% VBE

Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in business administration, economics &/or engineering with two (2) years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment.

Personal computer skills, mainframe operations as relates to procurement, related software and knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes required. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skill set.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
