Job description
This position is responsible for underwriting, quoting and selling commercial line policies through agency partners.
Duties and responsibilities
- Underwrites business both new and renewal in accordance with underwriting guidelines;
- Analyzes policies and endorsements to ensure all information presented in the application, quote, and/or binder is accurate with no errors, omissions or discrepancies
- Analyzes inspection reports to accept or reject new business and/or renewals;
- Issues policies and endorsements and binds coverage in our policy management system accurately;
- Serves as a technical expert, assisting Agency members and agents to resolve complex issues;
- Services Agency calls, accurately answers questions regarding client coverage, limits and deductibles;
- Supports marketing activities to agents and actively participates in the agency management process;
- Demonstrates a professional, courteous attitude with agent by responding quickly and ethically to all requests/issues;
- Provides accurate and thorough education to agents about the company’s target industries and pricing guidelines
- Maintains client diaries and completes follow-ups appropriately and in a timely manner;
- Orders necessary reports or documents that are critical to the underwriting process
- Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information)
