HintonBurdick CPAs and Advisors, a leading regional certified public accounting firm, is seeking a Manager - Professional Staff Accountant for all stages of Client Accounting Services, advisory, and business management in our St. George, UT, Cedar City, UT, Richfield, UT, Mesquite, NV, or Gilbert, AZ office. This position provides opportunities for advancement and promotion throughout your professional career. An ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in financial position in staff accountant or private industry (Controller, CFO, etc) and strong working knowledge of reading financial statements and providing guidance. The right candidate will provide firm-wide training on best practices and internal technical education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Research and consult on various accounting and advisory matters
• Strong technical knowledge and experience
• Consult and collaborate with clients and Partner-in-Charge
• Oversee specific client billings
• Train and educate junior staff and interns
• Provide timely, accurate, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
• Have a working knowledge of tax consequences for individual, trust, partnership, and corporate clients
• Perform bookkeeping services which may include recording transactions in ledgers, preparing trial balances and financial statements using computer software programs. Reconcile accounts, prepare schedule of accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense, etc
• Perform compilation, review, and audit procedures as assigned
• Draft reports including routine footnotes

• Previous mentorship experience a plus
• Experience with Thomson Reuters programs a plus
• Strong critical thinking and analysis skills
• Proactive and collaborative with Partners and staff
• CPA license (preferred not required)
