Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is seeking a FT Clerical Specialist- HR for it's Allentown location.

  • Full-time M-F 8a-4p
  • COVID Vaccine is required

General Definition:

This is specialized clerical work, performing substantive processing work, in the area of specialization. A position in this class independently prepares, carries out and takes definitive action regarding processes and functions that are integral parts of the organization’s mission.

Typical Examples of work:

  • Administers and maintains the nursing home payroll process by using a time clock system.
  • Determines if the punch times are accurate, calculates the correct form of payment for late and early departures, accurately documents employee usage of time, determines and calculates employee payment of accrued leave balances, makes independent decisions with regard to employee payment by utilizing Lehigh County and Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehab policies including the nursing home union agreements and contracts.
  • Completes related reports and edit documents to determine the accuracy of the completed payroll.
  • Provides both unions with documents and required reports according to the contracts.
  • Determines eligibility of employee requested Family and Medical Leave and unpaid Leave of Absences, processes all FMLA and LOA documents for approval and determines usage of both benefits.
  • Determines violation of Cedarbrook’s attendance policy and prepares appropriate progressive disciplinary documents.
  • Reviews employee files to determine the appropriate level of discipline and determines if the violation is accurate.
  • Completes all Criminal Monitoring checks including FBI and PA State Criminal History checks to determine if applicant is approved for hire.
  • Conducts employee orientation explaining all policies and procedures to new hires on a bi-weekly and monthly basis.
  • Completes and processes all new hire paperwork including employee enrollment paperwork, health benefit and retirement plan paperwork.
  • Monitors valid licensing and certification of all professional and nursing assistants.
  • Posts all open positions for union and non-union openings.
  • Assists current employees with yearly open enrollment questions and processes paperwork.
  • Completes mortgage statements, employment verifications, unemployment documents, childcare and domestic relations forms and other employment related documents.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Through knowledge of clerical Human Resources principles, practices, methods, techniques used in effecting decisions and actions governing Lehigh County and Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehab policies and procedures along with union contracts and Department of Labor and Department of Health laws and guidelines.
  • Human resources Knowledge (FMLA, worker's compensation, health benefits, etc) & payroll experience is required for this position.

Acceptable Training & Experience:

  • Education equivalent to completion on the twelfth school grade.
  • Four to five years of clerical experience in an administrative, professional, governmental or judicial setting, two years of which shall have been at the full performance level in the area of specialization.
  • Or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities cited above.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.97 per hour
