Job Summary:

This remote position is responsible for Supporting the Claims Department by working closely with veterinary hospitals, policy holders and the Figo claims team to evaluate and review a pet’s medical history to determine a baseline of health. Process claims accurately and timely

Job Location: Remote work is not available in AK, MT, HI (US) and Quebec, Nunavut, NW Territories, Yukon (Canada)

Main Responsibilities:

• Assists with calls to vets and policy holders to request medical records necessary to complete claim processing
• Reviews pet’s medical records to determine and document medical history
• Consult with appropriate professionals as needed to get expert evaluation including vet staff
• Examine photographs, invoices and statements
• Investigate and process insurance claims, verify coverage as applies through insurance policy, ascertain compensation amount of claim,
• Update EOB, pay claims per policy, close claim using Diamond Software System
• Must be very organized and take initiative, attention to detail, strong time management and multi-tasking skills an asset
• Analytical skills, problem solving (broad-based, analytical, conceptual, creativity) • Should be comfortable in speaking with vet staff and policy holders.
• Interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communications a must. Communications must be handled in a courteous and professional manner
• Ability to collaborate with others on projects and/or special assignments
• Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
• Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and ability to pick up innovative technology solutions, quickly and effectively
• Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
• Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree or similar relevant work experience
• Certified Veterinary Technician license preferred
• 2-4 year’s experience working in a veterinary hospital as a veterinary technician preferred
