At Transpo, we are changing the way public transportation moves in our community with new energy efficient vehicles, a state of the art LEED Platinum certified transit facility and innovative leadership. As a Bus Operator you are the face of Transpo and for this reason, we seek customer service and safety-oriented candidates to safely drive our 35-foot passenger buses on the assigned routes within the South Bend/Mishawaka metropolitan area. Operators can earn up to $29.52/hour after 3 years of employment. Starting pay is $20.34. Excellent benefits package to include health, dental, and vision insurance, company participating pension plan, as well as company paid short term disability and life insurance. Upon full time status Bus Operators should be flexible to accepting a work schedule based on seniority, outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Previous bus operating or commercial driving experience is not required, however prior to the job offer, it is the applicant's responsibility to obtain the Commercial CDL Learner's Permit and DOT (Department of Transportation) Physical. Once obtained, Transpo will provide a four (4) week paid training ($17/hr.) program consisting of both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.
