The Community Resource Center of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church provides help, hope and healing for our neighbors in need. We seek to transform lives through Christ's love by equipping families and individuals with resources that lead to housing stability. We provide emergency shelter, rental assistance, food, basic need items, case management support, computer use and employment mentoring, as well as other essential support to best meet the individual needs of our guests.
St. Andrew’s Community Resource Center is seeking a Childcare Advocate to provide daily care for the children of the families receiving services at St. Andrew’s Community Resource Center (CRC). The Childcare Advocate fosters positive relationships with the children and their parents.
$500 HIRING BONUS!!
Applicants who are hired are eligible to receive a $500 hiring bonus! The employee will receive $250 after 3 months of satisfactory performance and attendance, working their agreed upon schedule when hired. The employee will receive the remaining $250 after 6 months of satisfactory performance and attendance, working their agreed upon schedule when hired.
Primary Duties:
- Supervises and engages with children to ensure a safe and engaging environment
- Implements behavior management strategies as needed
- Determines age appropriate activities for different age groups
- Prepares materials for activities
- Cleans, maintains and organizes the nursery to ensure a safe, age-appropriate and stimulating environment
Minimum Requirements:
- Two years of experience working with children ages 0-15 including the planning of age-appropriate activities
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Skill in communicating effectively and respectfully with parents
- Skill in forming trusting relationships with children
- General knowledge of common developmental, behavior and learning challenges
- Skill in managing own emotions and understanding and managing the emotional reactions of others
- Comfortable working in a Christian environment

St. Andrew's Community Resource Center Program Manager
Schedule:
Typically Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
