POSITION SUMMARY

Child Nutrition Program Coordinator handles the daily coordination of The Bailey Foundation’s Afterschool meal programs and summer meal programs for children. CNP Coordinator will communicate with partners and vendors, coordinate daily menus and schedules, visit sites to train and manage program compliance, coordinate delivery logistics while engaging and maintaining community relationships and connections.

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Coordinate the daily operations of the afterschool and summer meals programs for children.

● Communicate with partners and vendors to ensure efficient program delivery and quality of services.

● Develop and maintain daily menus and schedules with required food components for the programs in accordance with USDA guidelines and provide them to sites and vendors.

● Visit sites to train and manage program compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.

● Perform site visits to monitor daily operations and document observations and findings.

● Coordinate delivery logistics, including transportation and distribution of meals to program sites.

● Demonstrated skill in recruiting new community partners.

● Develop and maintain positive community relationships and connections to promote the program and ensure community support.

● Track program data and prepare reports as needed for program evaluation and compliance with grant requirements.

● Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program activities, including invoices, receipts, and inventory.

● Work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers to ensure program success and continuous improvement.

● Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance program knowledge and skill.

● Provide remote and on-site technical assistance to sites, including required Corrective Action documents, if applicable.

● Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.

QUALIFICIATIONS:

● Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food service management, or related field preferred.

● Experience working in child nutrition programs, preferably in a supervisory or coordination role.

● Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

● Knowledge of USDA child nutrition program guidelines and regulations is preferred.

● Ability to work effectively with diverse partners and stakeholders, including community organizations, school personnel, and government agencies.

● Ability to relate effectively with children, families, community members, and staff of diverse backgrounds.

● Familiarity with computer software programs, including Microsoft Office, database management systems, and general office equipment.

● Capacity to adhere to deadlines, meticulous attention to detail, and proficient time management skills.

● Proficiency in precisely tracking, managing, and reporting on data/activities, as well as the ability to follow through on assignments.

● Capability to proficiently handle a broad range of tasks, projects, and duties; and to finish work assignments with minimal supervision.

● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

● Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

● Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

● Ability to travel to program sites within the designated service area.

● Work Environment:

● Work is primarily performed in an office setting with frequent visits to program sites.

● May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions while traveling to program sites.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
