Compensation:

Salary: $125,475 - $180,374 (Hay points: 1074)

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for managing the Division of Revenue Control's Revenue Collections & Servicing unit which handles the collection of all NYCT bus and subway revenue along with sister agencies. This position is responsible for 329 armed employees and for the safe collection, transport, and accounting of all revenue.

The incumbent will:

  • Schedule the collection of all passenger revenue from vending machines.
  • Establish guideline servicing needs of vending machines with coin, fare media, SRTs and receipts to deliver uninterrupted service to passengers.
  • Publish monthly statistics detailing route performance.
  • Direct the management and flow of custodial control for all cash, coin, and fare media within Revenue Collections.
  • Oversee the collection of all bus passenger revenue from NYCT/MTA Bus depots and SBS routes located throughout NYC.
  • Adjust pickup schedules according to each depot's volume.
  • Create just in time pickup schedules for all SBS Coin Fare Collectors (CFC) to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Manage Mobile Sales operations, which services the reduced fare community within the five boroughs and Westchester, providing the ability for them to sign up for Reduced Fare (RF) products, providing fare media and addressing all issues related to the RF product.
  • Oversee a 24/7 control desk which includes all field operations, scheduling of utility/vacation personnel and overall administration of operation which includes providing support to AFC maintenance.
  • Oversee safety/security training, new policy initiatives, labor contract grievances and discipline, employee counseling and ensure all programs are compliant with existing procedures.
  • Rewrite all departmental policy instructions addressing new OMNY CVM systems.
  • Provide services to support the removal of MVMs and the installation of CVMs.
  • Be responsible for establishing servicing guidelines and procedures for Revenue Collections staff once OMNY is fully implemented.
  • Be responsible for all policies and procedures relevant to the safety of revenue collection operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate work practices to reduce lost-time injuries, support optimum employee availability and reduce operational expenses for the unit.
  • Vigorously monitor armored truck availability to ensure uninterrupted MVM/CVM servicing, collections, and revenue deposits.
  • Work with Department of Buses’ Support Fleet Services to ensure the fleet replacement cycles are maintained.

Education and Experience:

  • Fifteen (15) years of full-time, paid, related experience, and at least ten (10) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative capacity; or
  • A satisfactory equivalent of education and/or experience.

  • Knowledge of Accident reporting methodologies.
  • Operational control management for large scale programs.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of audit procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of NYCT’s policies and procedures
  • Ability to prepare charts and graphs for reports
  • Valid NYC pistol permit.
