Job Overview
- Advises AFWERX Director on all matters relating to planning, cost, schedule & performance of SpaceWERX programs/projects.
- Responsible for planning & programming reliable, predictable, and manageable schedules, obligations, and solicitations for SpaceWERX programs, projects, and initiatives.
- Manages a diverse team of contractor support personnel, government civilians, and military members.
- Formulates & institutes policies, programs, and objectives impacting the mission of SpaceWERX.
- Develops metrics to track performance of SpaceWERX programs, projects, and initiatives, and utilizes those metrics to continually improve cost projections and performance objectives while also resolving all taskers, Congressional inquiries, and audits related to the performance of the mission.
- Develops new methods for testing and evaluating the effectiveness of innovation actions and processes in support of Space Force and Air Force mission needs.
- Represents AFWERX and SpaceWERX with a variety of government and commercial organizations.

Required Qualifications
- United States Citizenship
- Work may require travel away from the normal duty station.
- Individuals must meet all licensure, acquisition certifications, security, etc., requirements at the time of appointment or be on an approved waiver prior to being placed on the position
- Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the DO-03/GS-14 or equivalent grade
- Must be able to meet Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) requirements
- Must be able to obtain or maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI access
- This is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing
- Demonstrable experience in the applicable career field
- Pay Range: DO-04, $123,545-$152,771 (base salary) - total salary will be determined on employee location
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with the United States Space Force
- Experience engaging with private investors and start-up companies
- Advanced STEM, Economics, Business, and/or Finance Degree
- Experience working in remote and cross-organizational teams or programs
- Advanced Program Management APDP certification
- Familiarity with Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs
