Pay rate: $17.00 an hour

We are immediately hiring Certified Home Health Aides (CHHA) for 8.5 hour per diem shifts in a hospice facility located in Scotch Plains, NJ and/or Elizabeth. You will be assigned at least 6 patients to assist with their ADL's. The following shifts are available week-by-week, on a per diem basis, which include a mandatory 30 minute unpaid break:

• 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
• 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
• 11:00 pm - 7:30 am

Responsibilities:

• Assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing, ambulation, and transfers
• Accompany clients to the grocery store, doctor appointments and pharmacy visits
• Assisting client with active and passive mobility work defined by the plan of care, and documenting observed changes to the Director of Nursing

Requirements:

• Valid New Jersey CHHA License in good standing
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid CPR Certificate or willing to get one
• Negative drug screen background screening
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively
• Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
