Job Description
The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) reports to the assigned Sports Medicine leader. The AT will be assigned to the Citadel Military College, specific teams/responsibilities TBD based on preference, experience and need, as well as provide training room and cross coverage for additional teams and the cadet corps as needed. The AT will provide collegiate-based point of service for sports related prevention, care, coverage and rehabilitation, referral and marketing for musculoskeletal injuries and sports related ailments within a defined environment for athletes under the general supervision of the physician, physical therapist, physician assistant and or nurse practitioner.
Previous experience with collegiate and/or professional sports teams preferred. Job includes in and out of state travel responsibilities for game coverage as well as pre- and post- game treatment.
Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA. (Masters degree in Athletic Training preferred). Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC). Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC. Maintain current BLS certification (BLS Instructor certification preferred). Must be able to adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Weekday, weekend and evening hours to cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events.
