Job description
The Sterile Processing Manager oversees all Central Processing Services performed at Stamford Hospital main campus and Tully Health Center.
This role coordinates Central Service activities and communicates with the Operating Room, Emergency Department, Cardiovascular Unit, Labor and Delivery, Special Procedures and other clinical areas to provide prompt and effective service that adheres to AAMI industry standards, hospital protocols, policies and procedures. The Sterile Processing Manager oversees input and management of the labor and expense budgets, controls all inventory, recommends changes for improvement of organizational performance, and coordinates general departmental operation needs. This position provides supervision in the form of leadership and mentorship to include work allocation, scheduling, performance evaluation and problem resolution for staff in the department.

Required Skills
1) Bachelor's Degree in business, operations management or related field or active Connecticut RN license
2) IAHCSMM or CRCST certification required
3) Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) and Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) certifications highly desirable
4) Minimum of 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience with concentration in Sterile Processing and Distribution Management in Central Service/Operating Room
5) Knowledge in budget preparation, contracts & cost analysis, infection control, hazardous materials and waste applications CQI, standards of JCAHO, CDC, EPA and AAMI
6) Prior supervisory or leadership experience highly preferred
7) Strong communication skills required; ability to cultivate cross departmental relationships
