Central Concierge Associate - Wellness Center (Hourly, Evenings)
Job description
Shift: Hourly on call, Evenings, Weekend as needed, 8-16 hrs per pay period
Reporting to the assigned coordinator or manager, enhances customer service by providing a variety of service initiatives including taking appointments, processing payment, answering member inquiries and assisting with a variety of member or guest related issues.
1. Welcomes and greets members in a courteous and friendly manner; verifies their identification and necessary information by using computer hardware and software.
2. Promotes services and programs within the facility by keeping a thorough knowledge of each department. Supports Membership Sales as needed.
3. Answers incoming telephone calls in a professional, courteous and customer service related manner; takes messages or directs calls as appropriate.
4. Assists members and guests with Pro-shop inquires and purchases. Maintains merchandise in neat and orderly fashion. Accepts payment by cash, check, credit card or house charges following established procedures. Reconciles receipts and transactions at the end of each day.
5. Secondary, duties include taking appointment requests and cancellations for the Personal Trainers, Pilates Reformer instructors and swim lessons. Verifying their identification and necessary membership information by using computer hardware and software.
6. Monitors visitors and spectators to ensure an orderly entrance area; courteously answers or directs their inquiries, concerns or attention to appropriate personnel. Straightens entrance, lobby, and desk areas as necessary to maintain a neat, attractive appearance.
7. Represents the Wellness Center Services in a professional, courteous and enthusiastic manner.
8. Adheres to all NCH standards, policies and procedures.
1. Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
2. The level of knowledge normally acquired through three years of experience in customer service or related position.
3. Relevant knowledge of the fitness industry.
4. CPR/AED Certification within 3 months of hire required.
5. The communication and language skills necessary to convey information clearly and concisely, both in person and on the telephone. The written skills necessary to take and relay accurate messages.
6. The interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with customers, team members, and the public.
7. The ability to multi-task and work independently with limited supervision.
8. The mathematical skills necessary to effectively interact with customers, team members and the public.
9. The ability to use a cash register and computer.
10. The organized skills necessary to simultaneously perform multiple tasks.
11. General knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Requires little physical effort. May require prolonged periods of sitting, standing or walking.
2. Flow of work and character of duties involves normal mental, visual and auditory attention much or all of the time.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Moderate to high activity and noise level in the work environment.
2. Moderate fluctuations in room temperature during the seasons in the lobby.
