Cardiac Cath Services - (Full-time, Day Shift) -

The Cath Lab Technologist Lead works as a critical team member and supervisor, performing simple and complex diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional cardiovascular and angiographic procedures in the adult and geriatric population. Operates the physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Positions and instructs the patient for the examinations. Ensures all patient care equipment is calibrated and that operational capabilities are tested consistent with departmental guidelines and regulations. Anticipates potential safety concerns in the environment of care and intervenes as necessary. Participates in educational activities, departmental committees, and other healthcare related projects as assigned. Provides direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources. Appraises the quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and communicates to responsible individuals. Provides accurate clinical and billing documentation. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Takes call as needed and must be able to respond to activation within thirty minutes. Performs other duties as needed.


Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program required. Minimum two years experience in a cardiovascular lab required. 3 years’ experience preferred.

Able to operate all appropriate Radiology equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients of all ages, physicians and co-workers. Able to communicate effectively about complex matters with others. Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular, endovascular and radiology procedures. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place and patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.


Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Associated and Basic Electrocardiogram (EKG) recognition preferred. Valid certification of Radiologic Technologist (CRT) from the State of California, Department of Health Services required. Valid California Fluoroscopy license required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
