CARPENTER TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY

The Carpenter Technician oversees the day to day material installation. This role is responsible for meeting daily and weekly production goals, performing installations, and ensuring work sites are safe for crew members. The Carpenter Technician will play a key role in ensuring projects run smoothly and are completed within the designated timeline. This position reports directly to the Carpenter Crew Leader/Manager.

OBJECTIVES

• Conduct safe operation of pneumatic roofing nailer, siding nailer, finish nailers and accurate installation of construction materials according to install manual and instructions provided
• Take lead for 2-story projects and take lead in building a safe scaffolding set up for crew
• Handle the day to day operations of material installation
• Assist the Lead Carpenter in achieving daily and weekly production goals
• Train and instruct the Carpenter Assistant in material install after basic layout has been determined
• Perform tool inventory and reporting on a monthly basis
• Report on current and upcoming projects on a daily basis
• Adhere to local building and safety codes and guidelines
• Ensure project has been completed timely an in accordance with project completion deadline
• Complete training in CardoneU daily (3 modules)
• Ensure location services are turned on and clock in and out daily using the Projul app
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

COMPETENCIES

• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Demonstrates knowledge of different types of nails to use for each type of material application and appropriate nail guns
• Ability to effectively instruct, train, and mentor Carpenter Assistant
• Demonstrates knowledge of products being installed and how to install material appropriately
• Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately
• Possesses drive and ambition to advance up to a Carpentry Crew Leader/Manager within a 2-3 year period
• Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
• Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination

What’s Next and When Next

Pay Rate-$18-$21 /hr.

Advance to Carpenter Crew Leader/Manager within a 2-3 year period and when you can perform the duties listed above correctly on a daily basis and the basic level 1 Carpenter Crew Lead/Manager duties also

METRICS

Daily responsibility to put all tools in proper space in trailer at the end of the day

Accurate Time clock in and out on a daily basis with lunch break

Attend biweekly meetings and send form day before

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus pay
• Commission pay

• Gulf Breeze, FL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
