Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Monitors the salt addition system and keeps the system full at all times.
Monitors the operation of the starch room, to include cleaning the cyclones, loading the starch trucks.
Load out sheets for proper accounting of various loaded materials.
Prepares and maintains process control sheet data.
Monitors finished product integrity by visual inspecting for foreign material and sampling.
Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment during scheduled shutdown and at other times as directed by the supervisor.
Visually completes and monitors the filling of all starch, waste hopper and by-product trucks.
Loads trucks with finished product by use of a powered lift truck, if needed. Uses lift trucks to move salt and other items throughout the plant.
Will be responsible to clean, store and handle the waste tote bins.
Will assist the sliver operator as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
SAFETY: Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including but not limited to the lockout-tagout procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be certified to operate a powered lift truck to the level of an intermediate operator as determined by the company.
