Location/Division Specific Information
The Procurement Buyer III has overall responsibility for assigned suppliers portfolio for the Hillsboro site ensuring uninterrupted global supply of raw materials, OEM finished goods and services. This position’s primary objective is to acquire inbound materials and services on time and complete, from approved critical global suppliers to support the operations and improve the organization’s profitability.

As a Procurement Buyer III you will be handling our most complex supplier relationships from a procurement perspective and will participate in creative problem solving as needed to ensure continuity of supply.
A day in the Life:
- Use MRP system to issue and manage purchase orders based on requirements
- Complete returns process for material deemed defective
- Ensure Past due POs and PO Confirmations are updated
- Deliver to OTD, Past Due PO, PO confirmation and other key department metrics
- Escalate internally and externally when supplier underperforms
- Participate in Engineering Changes as needed for managed parts
- Update part set points to order effectively and improve the quality of the inventory by reducing excess and obsolescence.
- Work with key internal partners (Sourcing, Customer Service, Finance) to ensure efficiency/effectiveness
- Create reports for management
- Contribute to increased customer loyalty score (CAS).
- Embrace and participate initiatives to identify improvements and cost savings to the business
- Serve as back up to the Procurement Manager as needed
- Other items as assigned
Keys to Success:
Education
- University degree in supply chain management, or an appropriate combination of education and experience
- APICs certification preferred but not required
Experience
- 5 years of proven experience in Procurement (Procurement/Sourcing) department in a highly flexible environment.
- 3 years of proven experience in management of critical supply chain for High-mix/Low-volume production
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experienced in change management, continuous improvement and NPI activities.
- Strong analytical skills.
- In depth experience with inventory, purchasing and supplier management activity.
- In depth experience working with ERP systems (knowledge of QAD a plus but not required)
- High level of organizational and time management skills.
- Able to re-set priorities as corporate objectives change
- Must have ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong English proficiency
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook/Microsoft Excel/Microsoft Word. Access and Microsoft BI a plus.
