In this position, you will be responsible for the procurement of over 3,000 component parts used in multiple production value streams. You will have “end to end” ownership of the procurement process including demand analysis, purchase order creation, delivery schedule creation, vendor follow-up, expediting, goods receipt confirmation, and vendor invoice dispositioning.

Your responsibilities

  • Initiate purchase orders (PO) in the system, according to the Purchase Requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures.
  • Confirm delivery with suppliers, monitors, and tracks supplier performance to purchase order requirements.
  • Update vendor lead times for each raw material procured.
  • Manage “days on hand” to ensure continuous production continuity.
  • Excessive and obsolete (E&O) avoidance and mitigation.
  • Maintain good receipt tracking to verify appropriate delivery and ensure proper invoice processing.
  • Collaborate with engineering for any product substitution, if required.
  • Work will be performed on-site at our Hackettstown, NJ production facility.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of material buying or related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of KBM AS/400 experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to build/improve effective processes.
  • Ability to deliver on commitments and follow through.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask with a strong sense of priority.
  • Ability to work independently and as a strong team player.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively interface with all levels of the organization as well as internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office applications
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
