Position Summary
Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Business Support Clerk. Working from our main campus in Harrisburg, PA, the Business Support Clerk will be part of a team responsible for the day-to-day processing of all special education related services invoices and providing administrative assistant support to the Medical ACCESS Data Technician, the Billing Specialist, purchasing of services, and other business office staff and operations as needed.
Job Goals
To manage the inflow of related service invoices for timely payment and to support the Medical ACCESS Data Technician with upkeep of the School Based ACCESS Program (SBAP). To also assist and support other members in the business office with various assigned duties.
Essential Functions
- Review, record, and code special education related service provider invoices for payment
- Field special education vendor payment inquiries by working with the accounting team
- Concentrate on data entry for special education cost tracking and various state reporting
- Communication with vendors as needed regarding invoicing questions and/or concerns
- Support Medical ACCESS Data Technician by:
- Setting up vendors and students in Medical ACCESS (MA) systems as needed
- Accurately identifying MA students using (ePromise) and/or Public Consulting Group’s (PCG) websites to determine MA eligibility status for service billing
- Using verification process to ensure CCA meets all qualifications to bill through SBAP
- Obtaining, reviewing and processing IEPs, Parental Consent Letters and MA forms in a timely manner for review and authorization by Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner through the Intermediate Unit
- Serve as back up for other business office staff, including but not limited to the Billing Specialist and the accounting team
- Prepare all purchase orders as requested and assist with purchasing as needed
- Provide administrative support to directors and managers in the operations departments
- Other administrative duties as assigned

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role. Requires the ability to lift, squat, sit, bend or stand as necessary. Ability to travel to other sites/locations as needed.

Required & Preferred Education and Experience
- High School Diploma required
- 2 years of relevant work experience or Associates degree in Business preferred
