Business Services Accountant

Our growing Business Services team is seeking an experienced CAS accountant (3-5 years) to work with a wide variety of businesses to execute accounting, tax, and bookkeeping assignments. A strong candidate will have a sound understanding of standard business accounting (CAS) practices and a passion for building good working relationships with clients through effective communication.

Primary responsibilities of the Business Services Accountant

This position requires the ability to capably perform typical business accounting functions and to take on certain more complex tasks. The accountant will perform a wide variety of diversified accounting and tax assignments under the supervision of different professionals. Performance is judged based on the quality of work, application of accounting knowledge, and ability to meet time constraints.

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and calculate prepaids and accruals
• Prepare and analyze annual budgets
• Assist in onboarding new clients
• Record transactions in ledgers, prepare trial balances and financial statements using software programs
• Reconcile accounts to control accounts
• Perform schedule computations of accruals, property, and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense
• Prepare business tax returns
• Work with clients on a monthly basis
• Perform other accounting, auditing and tax duties as needed in engagement and as assigned by supervisory personnel

Qualifications and Competencies

• Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA certification or CPA certification eligible
• 3-5 years business accounting experience required
