The Business Development Representative will be responsible for sourcing new opportunities for business within assigned territories, while cultivating strong relationships with people and organizations in the community.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify companies and people (referral sources) within assigned territory that are interested or in need of home care service provider.
- Cultivate strong relationships with referral sources (people and companies) by completing 10+ sales visits daily.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities to create long-term value for the company.
- Scope out, prospect, and create a pipeline of targeted potential customers to pass off to the inside sales team (care consultants) for further vetting and closing.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities/pipelines and partners (home health companies, hospice companies, etc.) and develop strategic plans.
- Collaborate with sales team to develop and implement sales strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing team to update marketing strategies based on analysis of sales data.
- Conduct in-services and networking events at various locations throughout assigned territory, with prepared sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as needed.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the healthcare industry, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build relationships and expand knowledge.
- Utilize a customer-centric approach to understand the needs and requirements of referral sources and provide tailored solutions.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet KPIs.
- Actively seek out and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, cold-calling, and email campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in healthcare/home care sales preferred.
- Experience tracking sales activity/reporting in a CRM system is a plus.
- Encourage applicants to apply with Account Manager, Area Sales Manager, Social Worker, or Business Development Representative experience.
