Job Posting Title: Business Development Manager, Trade Lane
Time Type: Full Time
Salary range: $70,000 - $100,000 annually
Summary
The Trade Lane Manager is responsible for managing and developing international trade lanes to ensure growth and profitability for the company. They will work closely with internal teams and external partners to drive revenue, manage costs, and provide excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement trade lane strategies to achieve business objectives and customer needs
- Monitor and analyze trade lane performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
- Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, vendors, and other stakeholders in the trade lane process
- Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions with carriers and other service providers
- Work with sales and marketing teams to identify new business opportunities and develop targeted marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure efficient and effective handling of trade lane shipments
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for trade lanes
- Provide regular reporting and analysis on trade lane performance to senior management
- Manage and lead a team of trade lane specialists or coordinators
Educational background / Work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in trade lane management, preferably in the transportation and logistics industry
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape
- Ability to communicate efficiently and persuasively in front of clients and internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with international clients and vendors
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience within the logistics industry
Language skills
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
Computer Literacy
- Proficient in using software and tools such as Microsoft Office and CRM.
