EarthRoamer is looking for a self-motivated, skilled, hardworking Body Work/ Paint Technician for our composite shop. Ideal applicants will have strong body work experience and be competent applying fillers, finish sanding, mixing coatings, and spray operations. Basic knowledge and experience with composite fabrication and finishing is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and finishing a variety of composite built parts, made from fiberglass and carbon fiber.
  • Repairing a part would include using fillers (Bondo, Duraglass, Metal Glaze) to repair air voids
  • Repairs would also include proper prep work for paint repairs, sanding gel coat imperfections, reapplying gel coat/paint.
  • Polishing/Buffing to quality standards.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience paint applications and strong skills with body work operations
  • Knowledge and experience in body work equipment and processes
  • Experience with power tool operation (paint gun, orbital sanders, air files, drills, etc.)
  • Must possess craftsman aptitude

  • Ability to learn quickly

  • Current driver's license and clean driving record
  • Meet schedule deadlines
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace
  • Experience in composite fabrication preferred, but not required.
  • Maintain flexible work schedule (may have to work overtime to meet delivery commitments)

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technical school training desired

Job Details

  • Current shift runs 7:00-3:30 Monday-Friday.
  • This is a full-time position requiring consistent dependable attendance.
  • This position is non-exempt, and therefore eligible for overtime pay.
  • The position may require some work outside of normal business hours, paid as overtime.
  • This position reports directly to the Composites Manager
  • Starting wage $22-25 / hour
  • Benefit Package totals $3-6/hour annualized:

Working Environment and Physical Demands

  • This is not a traveling position. All work is performed at our facility in Dacono, Colorado.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Fast-paced production environment.
  • Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, lifting (weights up to 75 lbs.) and stretching.
  • Requires climbing or working on ladders or scaffold up to 10 feet high.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to safely operate a hand and power tools, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Requires a normal range of hearing to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (machinery and alarms).
  • Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to work with small objects, read small print, use computers.
