Behavioral Services Coordinator

The Behavioral Services Coordinator (BSC) monitors and provides active support to individuals with complex behavioral challenges and their direct support staff both personally and through a team of Behavioral Support Specialists. To be successful you will be highly organized, responsive, collaborative, and inquisitive, excel in productive communication, adapt to shifting priorities, and be able to effectively train and mentor staff and clients.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field. Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in adult long term support with individuals who present behavioral support needs
• Experience developing Behavior Support plans for adult with intellectual disabilities
• Knowledge of DHS standards for restrictive measures
• Clients rights limitation knowledge
• Ability to evaluate behavior data to identify trends and execute changes to behavior support planning
• Knowledge of person center planning for adults with intellectual disabilities

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare written documentation for Restrictive Measures and Rights Limitations
• Evaluate trends related to client behavioral data and sends reports to care teams
• Investigate behavioral incidents to identify root cause of event, staff response, and client response. Interviews witnesses, reviews training documents, draws conclusions, and makes recommendations for improvement and prevention
• Evaluate the execution and effectiveness of the Behavioral Support Plan (BSP) and supporting documentation
• Participate in presenting verbal and written reports to internal or external agency employees and updates Behavioral Support Plan (BSP) as needed
• Respond urgently to behavioral events either by phone, video or in person to provide involved staff with necessary assistance to include direct intervention, post event encouragement, and practical support
• Mentor direct support supervisors and non-supervisory staff through on-the-floor training
• Enhance company training based on experiences with behavioral events and identified best practices through regular communication, consultation, and collaboration with Training Department
• Perform HR functions for Behavioral Support Specialists including training and performance monitoring and evaluation, coaching, counseling, and corrective action.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
