POSITION OVERVIEW

To Serve our guests in the Nobu style and to ensure their dining experience is a smooth and memorable experience. To impart the knowledge of our product to the guest in the way you have been trained. To pay attention to the minutest of details during the course of the guest’s time with you.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Prepare food items needed in the preparation of drinks, garnishes, purees, syrups, etc.
• Trash pickup and disposal at bar and bar service area and barista station.
• Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when using restroom, etc.).
• Empty trash and change trash bags in cans and surrounding areas as needed and after shift.
• Keep paper towel and soap dispensers full at all hand sinks as well as surrounding areas.
• Dust all bar areas before service.
• Wipe all stools, seats, tabletops, and bar tops.
• Use appropriate cleaning products on designated areas.
• Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance, and/or safety.
• Complete tasks related to stocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of beverages under the guidance of the Bartender.
• Keep reach-ins stocked with proper products and clean before, during, and after shift.
• Keep shelves dusted and clean, as well as surrounding areas.
• May assist with cocktails, but only when all other duties are done, and under bartender supervision.
• Create and support an environment of “Teamwork” by helping a fellow employee or guest, without a second thought.
• Adhere to organization policies and procedures.
• Keep similar products together in a neat and structured form.
• Store all items according with health code regulations.
• Keep accurate refrigeration temperature log, as well as time and temperature log for fruit trays.
• Maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc. Do this before, during, and after shift.
• Make sure bartenders are prepared for peak service times.
• Inform the bar manager of any items that are running low.
• Check Vintages.
• Update Yama board.
• Prepare water, sake, wine, etc.
• Wash glasses and other serving equipment at bars.
• Polish all glassware.
• Dry equipment once washed and replace them for proper storage.
• Stock refrigerator units with liquor, wines, and beer, etc.
• Keep proper labels on all products, such as date and time.
• All reach-ins should be stocked during service, as needed, and at the end of the shift before you leave.
• Replenish ice at bar.
• Fill ice bins during opening duties & during service.
• Responsible for preparing a variety of coffee and tea items - Cappuccino, espresso, green tea, etc.
• Comply with all Health and Safety and Fire Safety procedures and to attend all compulsory trainings.
• Label and date all products, such as juices, purees, syrups, back up garnishes, etc.
• Maintain complete knowledge of products, operating procedures, service specifications and company information.
• Inform management of guest’s reactions, comments, and any potential problems/complaints that may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 1-3 years’ experience preferred
• Food Handlers card or obtain within 30-days of hire date.
• Responsible Beverage Service certification or obtain within 60-days of hire date.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Bilingual is preferred. English/Spanish

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to indoor and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot, wet, or humid conditions. Requires extended work hours, weekends, and some holidays as needed for special projects/events. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
