The Job and what is Involved in Baker role:

• The role is to cook and bake specific items as agreed by management to a set schedule. It is essential that we have certain products available at required times of high quality and freshly prepared. This role is an evolving one that can grow in importance as the need for more home baked goods is a key strategy for the future.
• A set schedule will be set for baking requirements which are the responsibility of the Café Baker to meet, They will need to order ingredients in good time and on occasions visit the grocery store the to ensure the schedule can be met.
• The Café Baker will also be encouraged to introduce new items in line with the Café profile and kitchen capabilities. All new products must be approved by owner before sales to the public with cost of goods pricing included.
• Ensure the kitchen are and equipment is well maintained and meets cleanliness requirements set by the federal and State laws
• Ensure food serve Certification is kept up to date and valid
• Monitor food in the café area to ensure hygiene, storage, shelf life is maximized but not serving goods past the best dates

Baker Role Involves:

• Cooking/ Baking to meet orders placed by General Manager
• Keeping the cooking space/ kitchen in compliance with required code and hygiene standards
• Ordering supplies with relevant personnel to ensure they achieve times
• Arranging and restocking display counters with cold drinks and baked goods and food.
• Keeping the Café in a clean and in the hygiene standards required
• Educating staff about the home baked products and providing the ingredients list for the operations manual
• Monitoring food best before dates and making sure all of our food meets a high standard in line with the business
• Actively working on ingredients cost reduction with the CM and reducing food waste
• Generating cost pricing for all home baked goods
• Variety of duties as assigned
• Ensure the kitchen are and equipment is well maintained and meets cleanliness requirements set by the federal and State laws
• Ensure food serve Certification is kept up to date and valid

Personal Attributes

• Previous proven cooking and baking skills
• You must be a “peoples” person and be able to communicate verbally in English
• You need to show Commitment and Honesty
• You must be Punctual and Reliable
• You'll need to be a great multi-tasker and be able to get it right the first time.
• You will be able to work standing for long periods in what can be a hot, noisy and busy environment
• You must show high standards of hygiene are important when working with food

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
