HUB SECURITY MANAGER (2 Positions – Chicago, IL and Philadelphia, PA)

Since 1966, Prospect Airport Services, Inc., and its affiliates (Prospect International Airport Service Corp., Prospect of Orlando, Ltd., Co. and Prospect of Tampa, Ltd., Co.) (together “Prospect”) have provided support to the aviation industry on behalf of commercial airlines. Prospect currently operates in 30 cities and 31 airports across the
United States on a 24/7, 365 day per year basis. The Hub Security Manager position will report directly to the Vice
President of Corporate Security and lead and help develop Prospect’s (unarmed) Hub Security Team and have ultimate responsibility for oversight of the development, implementation, and maintenance of security services programs (including but not limited to aircraft security, passenger security screening and passenger assistance services) at their assigned Hub location. Prospect is hiring two (2) Hub Security Managers to lead Hub Security
Teams at its Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) airport operations.

Location:

The Hub Security Manager is based at Prospect’s operations at either Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) or Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Due to the 24/7, 365 day per year environment, the position does not follow a traditional weekday, 9 AM to 5 PM schedule since the position requires in person observation and oversight at various times during the assigned airport’s Hub security operations (which are often late night or early morning). Infrequent overnight travel to other Prospect security operations across the country for in person observation and oversight during security operations is also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and oversees a team of up to 8 Aviation Security Compliance Specialists at assigned Hub in performing and documenting in-person observations and monitoring of:
  • aircraft security search training of cabin services operations staff to ensure compliance with applicable security regulations and requirements; and
  • cabin services operations staff performing aircraft security searches to ensure compliance with applicable security regulations and requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining related records of Hub Security Team’s security observations and associated search records using required tools and/or software;
  • Implements and oversees company’s aircraft security search self-audit program at the Hub and maintains associated records;
  • Maintains and audits training records of frontline cabin service employees responsible for aircraft security searches;
  • Oversees data driven reporting to show compliance and performance trends for assigned security programs and analyzes collected data and metrics;
  • Communicates with local and corporate leaders regarding performance issues to facilitate rapid resolutions;
  • Works with local leaders to address requirements for individual employee performance improvement;
  • Assists Vice President of Corporate Security in developing briefing materials on program status for presentation to the senior leadership team, internal departments and other stakeholders as necessary;
  • As requested by Vice President of Corporate Security and in partnership with Prospect’s legal counsel, guides (and participates in as necessary) Hub Security Team’s investigations of incidents and allegations of non-compliance to include development of mitigation plans, preparing formal written correspondence to governmental entities and/or airline clients, preparing talking points and case summaries for informal conferences, and follow-up oversight to ensure mitigation plan is executed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/training;
  • At least 3 years’ work experience in aviation security with increasingly responsible leadership roles;
  • Knowledge of Transportation Security Administration Security Programs including the Aircraft Operator

Standard Security Program (AOSSP) and Private Charter Standard Security Program (PCSSP);

  • Experience with policy and procedure development and implementation of regulatory programs;
  • Experience with interdepartmental project management;
  • Experience with training; and
  • Experience with auditing.

Skills, Licenses and Certifications:

  • Training or certification in unarmed aviation (or transportation) safety and security;
  • Ability to build relationships with the company’s senior leadership team, internal departments, airline and airport clients, and regulators to review assigned security programs and drive continuous compliance improvement;
  • Ability to analyze performance and risk based on existing and impending regulations and provide feedback to appropriate levels of management;
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive priorities in the context of multiple conflicting projects/priorities;
  • Ability to handle urgent requests on short notice in response to operational needs;
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills and project management skills;
  • Must be highly responsive;
  • Must be a self-starter that requires minimal supervision to stay on task, work efficiently, and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner;
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization;
  • Proficient knowledge of and ability to independently work in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and

PowerPoint);

  • Ability to pass federally required background screening;
  • Depending upon base location, this position may require up to 30% travel, including overnight.
