Position Overview:
The Parts Manager oversees and is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department. The position will accomplish objectives through proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising, and ensuring customers are provided the best possible purchasing experience.
Essential Duties:
- Establish and lead by defining and achieving ambitious goals, presenting concepts to influence others effectively, problem-solving, and maintaining a work environment that continues to grow and prosper.
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performance team. Establish and maintain a work climate that encourages continuous improvement, productivity, employee satisfaction, and dedication to a positive customer experience.
- Delegate department duties and tasks amongst staff to ensure balance and efficiency.
- Develops, enforces, and monitors guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and that the same high-quality level of service provided to outside customers is delivered to internal dealership customers.
- Prepare and administer the annual operating budget for the parts department and additionally forecast goals and objectives aligned with the budget.
- Analyzes sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals and a balanced list consistent with the requirements of the service department, Body shop, whole accounts, and public.
- Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
- Sets individual parts inventory levels and balances them- for a maximum turn, monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence
- Monitor dirty core inventory and minimize it following manufacturer guidelines.
Who You Are:
- You are proficient and have a strong understanding of CRM tools and can successfully develop and administer training for the dealership (i.e., email, direct mail) that produces repeat business
- You can establish and manage continuous improvement efforts for the Parts Department and can develop and maintain standards to optimize productivity and serve customer needs
- You lead by defining and achieving ambitious goals, presenting concepts to influence others—effectively problem solving and maintaining a work environment that grows and prospers
- You have proven experience in managing systems of checks and balances to assure compliance and financial integrity. Protect the proprietary nature of the business and maintain strict managerial confidentiality
- You can effectively recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performance team
- You have excellent customer service skills and are clear in your communication
- You stay informed on industry trends and have the proven ability to create and manage a positive and productive work environment
- You are professional and have a strong work ethic
Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- Subaru experience preferred
- 3-5 years of Automotive Parts Department experience with 1-year supervisory experience
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a favorable motor vehicle record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
- Authorized to work in the United States
