Detail Shop Manager
This individual would oversee the Auction Detail Shop to ensure maximum production volume and profitability.
Responsibilities and Duties include by are not limited to the following:
- Manage all staff and ensure efficient movement of vehicles in and out of Detail Shop.
- Control shop conditions by ensuring lot is clean and orderly plus ensure traffic patterns are efficient and safe.
- Ensure proper scheduling and staffing of shop to meet operational and customer needs.
- Monitor PTO requests and OT to ensure efficient auction operations.
- Coordinate any staffing needs with General Manager, Vehicle Operations Manager and/or Human Resources.
- Develop and train staff within the Department
- Monitor all training requirement for the department and ensure timely completion of all training required.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention.
- Maintain a professional appearance, orderly work environment and friendly disposition by greeting others.
- Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise Management of all serious complaints or incidences.
- Ensure appropriate communication between all auction Departments in order to properly service customer accounts. Ensure proper preventative maintenance of all equipment. Notify Vehicle Operations Manager of any needed repairs or required maintenance.
- Responsible for impacting and achieving overall departmental goals. Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
- Make sure all Department area conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety.
- Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents immediately.
- Practice and instruct all employees in proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Auction Operations Manager or General Manager
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- A minimum of two (2) to (3) three years of supervision/management preferred. Previous auction experience preferred. Auction background would be helpful.
- Strong computer ability with basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good business judgment and discretion to analyze and address opportunities.
- Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong multitasking skills along with the ability to adapt to changing work environments.
- Demonstrate ability to learn, retain and articulate product related information and provide unscripted responses on appropriate subject matter.
- Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
