Automation and Controls Technician
BCI Surface Technologies/Bulk Chemicals, Inc. is a global leader in the development, manufacture, marketing, and servicing of specialty metal treatment chemicals for a wide variety of industrial applications.

BCI is looking for an Automation and Controls Technician, who will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and modifying controls on automatic chemical feed systems. The applicant must have experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Work within a team of field technical service representatives and Automation co-workers to maintain automatic chemical dosing systems used by industrial painting systems.

· Working with preferred equipment vendors, the individual will design and install chemical monitoring and feed equipment for use at customer’s site.

· Perform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated installed equipment systems.

· Perform preventive and predictive maintenance of production equipment.

· Participate in continuous improvement activities regarding processes, efficiency, quality and service.

Preferred Qualifications:

· An Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or five years of experience working with automation equipment in an industrial setting.

· Able to travel throughout the USA, up to 50% of the time.

· Interpret and troubleshoot electrical wiring, relay logic, control and safety circuits using electrical schematics and electronic test equipment.

· Experience specifying, installing and troubleshooting thermocouples, pressure transducers, proximity sensors, etc.

· Competent using a Windows based PC, and Microsoft Office Applications.

· Experience with AutoCAD a plus.
