Mechanic Candidate Description

Summary: We are looking for a maintenance/repair technician to inspect, repair vehicles and/or request larger repairs or diagnosis in our contracted fleet(s) that run 7 days a week for Fedex Ground. Employee must have basic knowledge of vehicle parts and repair techniques on requested repairs. Must also be able to diagnose or recognize vehicle issues that need attention. We have 3 bases of operations in North Canton, Twinsburg and Richfield, with the capability to do “road calls” in our service areas of West Cleveland, Old Brooklyn, Bedford, Warrensville Heights, Shaker Square, Cleveland Heights and all of Holmes county for small vehicle repairs to get vehicle road worthy or report issue and arrange tow. There are currently around 80 vehicles in our fleet to attend to.

Requirements:

* Must be 21 years of age, pass a drug test and a criminal background investigation

* Must have a valid drivers license

* Must be physically able to handle moving items up to 150 lbs

* Must understand DOT regulations and requirements when it comes to vehicle standards

* Must have previous vehicle repair experience of 2-5 years on both Diesel and Unleaded vehicles.

* Must be able to use a computer or tablet, have basic knowledge of email use, Excel, Word

* Must complete forms, checklists and any additional paperwork needed for documentation purposes

* Additional knowledge of Freightliner, International and Ford Stepvans, Chevy/GMC Cutaway trucks and Nissan Cargo Vans a plus!

Description of needs and compensation:

· Will have standard daily hours determined in interview for best fit, 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday. Additional hours and times will be considered contingent on emergency needs or pre scheduled change for inspections or required attendance. Road calls will also determine possible additional time outside of standard work hours.

· Provided vehicle or self owned vehicle use will be determined at interview. Most work will be done on site at dispatch terminals, but some will need done “on road”. Must provide and be responsible for your own tools and their upkeep/replacement if needed.

· Understanding of electrical systems, brakes, suspension, coolant and heating system, body hardware and function, camera and safety systems, PM Services, tire changing and lighting function will all be part of the repairs needed. Transmission and Engine diagnosis and repair a plus.

· Will send repair/inspection reports to management, order and pickup parts as needed and keep parts supply updated and fulfilled.

· Benefits package to include, paid vacation, medical and dental coverage, uniforms and direct deposit of weekly pay.

· $25-30 hour base salary. ($1000-1200 weekly salary)
